MOUNT JOY - Sylvia C. Warfel, 88, formerly of Mount Joy, died Sunday in Homestead Village, Lancaster. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Maytown, where she was Sunday school superintendent, a choir member and on the society ministry committee; a member of Lancaster County Farm Women Society No. 8 and the Mount Joy branch of the Needlework Guild of America. She was the widow of John M. Warfel. Surviving are three sons, John E. of Middletown, Richard M. of Mount Joy and Charles E. Suloff of Allentown; five daughters, Anna Belle Meredith and Shirley Roth, both of Elizabethtown, Evelyn Rapp and Barbara Heinaman, both of Maytown, and Kay Dicks of Lancaster; a sister, Anna Loy of Palmyra; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in her church. Burial will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Sheetz Funeral Home, Mount Joy, and from 9 to 10 a.m. tomorrow at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to her church, Maytown 17550. [Patriot-News, The (Harrisburg, PA) - Tuesday, June 8, 1993]
