SELLERSBURG MEWMAW, REV. LISLE E., 88, passed away Tuesday at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN. He was born May 18, 1916, in Crawford County, IL. He was a retired United Methodist pastor, involved in Christian ministry from his youth and pastored churches in Wyoming, Nebraska and Indiana. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, involved in the Lions Club and retired clergy associations and an alumnus of McKendree College. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary W. (Haworth) Mewmaw; daughter; Ruth E. Sweet; brothers, Burnas A. and Willard E. Mewmaw; sisters, Mary Sloan and Ferne Turnipseed; and parents, Everett and Achsa Kate (Tracy) Mewmaw. He is survived by his sons, Clem E. Mewmaw of Anchorage, AK, and Paul D. Mewmaw of Sellersburg, and daughter, W. Ranee Lescault of Millington, TN. Funeral: 2: 30 p.m. Thursday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Interment: Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany, IN, and 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
