Funeral services for Mary W. Mewmaw, 86, of Sellersburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, New Albany, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at the Robert E. Lee Healthplex. She was the former Mary Haworth of Donaldson, Ill. and was involved in life long Christian service in Illinois, Wyoming, Nebraska and Indiana. She was a homemaker and a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a member of Women to Women of Wesley Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Lisle E. Mewmaw; two sons, Clem E. Mawmaw, Anchorage, Alaska and Paul D. Mewmaw, Sellersburg; a daughter, W. Ranee Lescault, Millington, Tenn.; a brother, George Haworth, Fargo, N.D.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Sweet; a brother, Tyrol Haworth and her parents, Clem and Lottie Haworth.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 23, at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Women to Women Group at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
