Lewis Mumaw, aged 67 years, died yesterday at 4 am at his home, 2 South Fourth street, West Hazleton after a thirteen weeks' illness. He was born in this city and spent his entire life in this city and West Hazleton. Mr. Mumaw was a member of the Hazleton Trinity Lutheran church. Surviving are his wife, who was formerly Mable Frable, and three children: Virgil Mumaw of Sugarloaf, Mrs. William Elkins of Harrison, N.J. and Mrs. Carl Houseknecht, of this city; also a brother, John Mumaw of Easton, a sister Mrs. William Walton of this city and four grandchildren. In the 1920 Census, lists Louis Mumaw, age 51, head of household. His wife was listed as Frances. The children are listed as Letha, Geraldine,
and Virgil. All three children were Louis' step-children from Frances' first marriage.
The information I have on Frances is as follows:
Frances FRAVEL (b. Aug 1881, PA m. appx. 1899, PA d. unknown, PA). Married to Bruce ALBERTSON (b. Oct 1877, PA d. bet. 1910-1920, PA).
Their children:
Letha (b. 1900, PA)
Geraldine (b. 1902, PA)
Virgil Ford (b. 30 May 1904, PA d. 1957 PA)
Bruce ALBERTSON died sometime between 1910 and 1920. He and Frances are found in the 1910 census, and by the 1920 census, she was married to Louis MUMAW.
