DEATHS - HENRY PLATT
-------------------
Mr. Henry Platt died at his home in Brunswick, November 25th, and was buried in the Elliott Grove cemetery on Sunday. The funeral service was conducted at the Methodist church by the Rev. J R. A. Vaughan, and attended by a large number of friends. Though Mr. Platt had not been so robust since an attack of la grippe, his last sickness had begun only on the previous Sunday. He had reached the ripe age of nearly 72 years. Born in the State of Pennsylvania; married in the State of Ohio, in 1844, Miss Mary Ann Cullers; settled in Indiana in, 1860; two years ago came to Brunswick for a home. He leaves a widow and four sons, two of whom live in this city, and have made the reputation of upright, worthy citizens.
Mr. Platt left a good name as a kind husband and an affectionate father in his family, and in the community of industry, integrity and piety. He had been a member of the "Church of God" for twenty-three years, and during his residence among us had been a thoughtful attendant upon the services of the churches. He had not long since spoken to some of his friends about the departure which must soon come and declared himself "ready." While laboring to complete his little home on earth, his friends have the good hope that he has been instantly translated to the home of the Heavenly Father.
