MUMA, Dale Wesley
Born January 14, 1920 to William and Belle Muma in Arlington, WA, died at home January 15, 2008 in Newport, WA. Dale moved to Ewan, WA at the age of 10 and graduated from Ewan High School in 1939. He was a farm hand until he joined the Army for WWII. He spent three years in the Philippines. On return to the St. John, WA area he became a pilot and did crop dusting. Dale married Wanda Rhoads in 1949 and had two children. He moved the family to Hay, WA in 1957 to manage a cattle ranch until 1963 when they moved to Spokane. He worked for Spokane Presto-Log driving truck and repairing furnaces. He was divorced in 1969 and remarried to Margret Poier in 1971. He retired from Presto-Log in 1992 and worked for Goodwill Industries until 1997. Besides his parents Dale was preceded in death by his wife Magret, brothers Keith and Levi Muma; sister Fern Rhoads. He is survived by his sister Helen Rhoads in Warsaw, IN; daughter Clydette Scalise of Newport, WA; son Stephen Muma in Harrington, ID; stepdaughters Karen Hone and Pat Hornbeck of Spokane; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held in the spring with military honors at Greenwood Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, WA is in charge of arrangements.
