Notes:
Donald Joseph Mumma, 73, of Harrisburg, PA, devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died Wednesday, April 9th, in his home in Linglestown. His loving family surrounded him when his fight with cancer ended.
He was born December 18, 1929 in Harrisburg, to the late Marlin and Vinie Mumma.
Throughout his lifetime, he was employed with the Harrisburg City Police Department, the Harrisburg CAT Bus Company and the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a Korean War Veteran and was employed as a Paint Mixologist for R.C. Cook Company for over 35 years, retiring in 2002. During his retirement, he loved to spend time with his wife and family, watch television and play golf.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Jean Mumma; two sons, Donald Joseph Mumma, husband to Janice of Harrisburg, and Dennis Keith Mumma, husband to Tabitha of Lebanon; a daughter, Donnalee Joanne Leinbach, wife to Arthur of Linglestown; 5 grandchildren, Michael Mumma of Harrisburg, Melissa Carolus of Thompsontown, Kyler Lee Leinbach of Linglestown and David and Brittney of Lebanon; 2 great-grandchildren, Carter and Dominic, also of Lebanon; and 3 aunts.
A private memorial service will be held (today) Monday, April 21, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas United Church of Christ, Linglestown, with Pastor Donald Wetzel officiating. There will be a visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. There will be no viewing.
