PRICKETT, Pauline Elizabeth Layman, 97, of Richmond, and formerly of Troutville, departed this life Wednesday, October 9, 1996, in a Richmond nursing home. The widow of Minter Jackson Prickett; and the daughter of George W. and Mary Lydia (Lillie) Salome Moomaw Layman, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Moomaw Layman, who was killed in World War I; three sisters, Marie Layman Yokeley, of Meadowview and Roanoke, Genevieve Layman Kinzie, Troutville, and Dorothy Layman Cline, Roanoke. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Elizabeth Prickett Hickin, Richmond; one nephew, Joseph G. Kinzie Jr., Troutville; three nieces, Dorothy Kinzie Weeks, Hilliard, Ohio, Martha Kinzie Dillon, Rialto, Calif., and Virginia Kinzie Visser, Troutville; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Troutville Church of the Brethren on Sunday, October 27, at 2:30 p.m. with the Reverends J. Weldon Myers and Roy E. Heinlen officiating. A reception at the church will follow. Inurnment will be at Daleville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Troutville Church of the Brethren or to Western Virginia Public Radio, WVTF-FM 89.1, 4235 Electric Rd. S.W., Roanoke, VA 2401
