Joe Frederick Mumma retired from the Ford Motor Lima Engine plant in Lima, Ohio after 25 years of service. Before working at the Lima Engine plant he was a auto mechanic at Bixel Ford and Brooke Ford dealerships in Bluffton, Ohio. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the 411-AAA Anti-Aircraft Gun Battalion, serving two years in the European threatre, obtained the rank of corporal. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 1219 and was a member of the Bluffton Masonic Lodge 432 Free and Accepted Masons, Bluffton American Legion Post 382 and a member of the Bluffton Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with his wife and family on Craig, Morrison and Randall lakes near Coldwater, Michigan. He loved to fly fish with his cousin Budd and his Uncle Harry at their cottage on Vinyard lake near Brooklyn, MIchigan. He enjoyed going to Switzerland twice with his wife Hilda and visiting with her relatives. Loved to go on trips with his sister in law and her husband, Helen and Richard Barnes.
