His birth year is one of three years: 1878, 1879, 1880. In obituary it indicates 1878, in census of 1880 it indicates 11 months old making his birth year 1879 and in the widow's pension it indicates 1880 (when children reach 16 yrs old the widow is no longer eligible to receive extra dollars to support the minor child.)

Obituary reads:
Ira N. "Nick" Mumma passed away at his home, 529 Odgen Ave., Forest Hills, Pittsburgh, PA, January 19th, 1947. He was the husband of Delsie Miller and father of James E., Ralph M., Mrs. Edith Avesbery, Mrs. Bessie Dutchoot, Mrs. Jane Keyser. One brother Chester and a sister Lulu Mumma Koon. He was the son of the late James and Mary Mumma and was born near McConnellsburg on June 27, 1878. He was a member of the Ross Ave. Methodist church of Wilkinsburg, the I.O.O.P. and the Encampment.
He was a machinist at the Union Switch and Signal Co. of Swissvale. He retired two years ago, after serving forty-four years.
Funeral services were conducted from the Turner funeral parlors by Rev. Joseph Blackburn and the Rev. James Fancett. Burial in William Penn Memorial Cemetery, Wed- (remaining is torn off.) Source: FCHS Scrapbook collection.
