4/29/01: I have just started working on this line so I have a little to start with. I was really glad to find your web site and was able to see My great grandmothers family traced back to Jacob Mumma.... I am trying to solve a mystery in my family line. My grandmother was raised by a family which were not her biologic one. Late in her life she found out that her mother was Ida Mumma Coy who was one of her aunts on her adopted mothers side. Luckily I was into genealogy before my grandmother's death so I did get some of the information but the one thing I did not get was who was her father. The persons who are alive are the people around my grandmother's age at the time of her death and they had never known that she was not the child of the family she grew up in. I have the proof that she is a Mumma because Marian Brown Mumma (Her grandmother) had put her name in the family bible. I have been in touch with one of Laura Mumma Holtry daughters (Sister of Ida Mumma) and she does not know much about the story. There was a lot of tragedy in that family so they will not talk much about it. It still is great to meet a branch of my grandmother's family and I will send you an update once I get it into the computer. Thanks for all your help."
