IRA MUMMA
Ira Mumma, 81, Burnt Cabins, died Monday, October 13, 1986 at Fulton County Medical Center. Born April 7, 1905 in Burnt Cabins, he was the son of the late John and Myrtle Gallagher Mumma.
He was a retired Pennsylvania Turnpike guard and had also worked for AT&T as well as at a Gulf service station. He was of the Methodist faith. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 749, McConnellsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fix Mumma; two sons, Jim and Dick of Burnt Cabins; one daughter, Betty Knowles of Virginia; a sister, Irene Brown of Burnt Cabins; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Ray Mumma.
Services will be held Friday, October 17 at 2:00 p.n. from the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Sheldon officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. but viewing hours will begin at 2:00 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery south of McConnellsburg.
