Barbara J. Mumma - (The Arizona Republic)
Mumma, Barbara J.slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 12, 2009 after a short battle with lymphoma cancer. Barbara is the daughter of George and Marion Butt who preceded her in death. Born on December 19, 1926 in Plymouth Michigan, Barbara attended college in Ohio before marrying Harold R. Mumma in January of 1949. In 1961 Barbara left Michigan for the Valley of the Sun where she resided until her death in March. Barbara was an avid cross-stitcher and also did voluntary work. Barbara is survived by her husband Harold of 60 years, by her three children Halerie Borkenhagen (Dennis), Becky Endres (Jim) and Todd Mumma (Jan). She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who will miss her. A memorial service will be held April 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mission del Sol Presbyterian Church in Chandler, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
