Obituary - Ronald E. Mumma

Ronald E. Mumma, age 61, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 6, 2012 at Hershey Medical Center, holding the hand of his wife and best friend, Deb. Born on August 30th, 1951 in Washington DC, the only child of the late Elwood (Red) and Margaret (Peggy) Mumma. He graduated from North Hagerstown High School, Hagerstown, MD in 1969. After high school Ron was proud to serve in the United States Navy from 1969-1973. His love of Country, and all military personel who serve it, continued until his last breath. He then worked at Chas Pfizer as an Operator Mechanic from 1973-1977. Ron was an Equipment Operator and Mechanic at Fairchild Republic Company from 1977-1984, as well as a Manager and Technical Consultant for Snelling and Snelling in 1984. He held the position of Facilities Manager at MKI Limited Partnership from 1985-1987, and then continued the same position at Top Flight Airpark until 1988. Ron's remaining years were spent as Warehouse Foreman for the Department of State Household Effects in Hagerstown, Maryland. Ron will be deeply missed by his loving wife Deborah Eddy Mumma, along with his daughter, Tina Marie Wallech of Waynesboro, PA, Son Ronald Scott Mumma of Hagerstown, Step-daughter Kristen Liegh Mumma and son-in-law Sheldon Mumma of McConnellsburg, step-daughter Allyson Dawn Yeager and son-in-law Tommy Yeager Jr. of Mercersburg, PA. Ron greatly loved his family and was especially proud of his 9 grandchildren, Jacob Wallech, Kolton and Emmersyn Mumma, Aaron, Alex, Dalton, Braydon and Gavin Mumma and Jordyn Yeager. A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening Sept. 11th at 6:00 PM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, 600 Center View Drive, P.O. Box 852, A120, Hershey, PA, 17033.
