Luther Gardner ?Sandy? Mumaw Sr., 83, of Boonsboro, MD passed away Friday, February 21, 2020, at his residence.
Born December 31, 1936 in Brunswick, MD, he was the son of the late Alpha and Alice Coulter Mumaw.
He attended Boonsboro Bible Church.
Sandy worked his whole life building or supervising the building of single family homes.
He loved woodworking, maintaining his yard and home, and camping.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Gloria Mumaw at home; two sons, Luther Mumaw Jr. and wife, Martha, of Harpers Ferry, WV and Timothy Mumaw and wife, Joyce, of Warrenton, VA; daughter, Jessica Mumaw Harry and companion, Craig Marshall, of Sharpsburg, MD; stepson, Michael Wentzell and wife, Melissa, of Brownsville, MD; grandchildren, Luther Mumaw III, Stuart Mumaw, Liah Kleeh and husband, Zach, Nicholas Wentzell, Joey Lynch, and Wesley and Waylon Marshall; great-granddaughter, Natellie Lynch; sister-in-law, Janice M. Linton of Brunswick; and two brothers-in-law, Harry Lee Fellers of Brunswick and Charles Reynolds Fellers of Frederick, MD.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Dinkle Mumaw; one granddaughter, Willow Marshall; two brothers, Charles and Norman Mumaw; one sister, Anna Bonam; stepson, John Edward Wentzell; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and John Fellers; brother-in-law, John Larry Fellers; and two sisters-in-law, Ann Carol Jackson and Mary Diane Shaff.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, with Pastor Allen Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery, Brownsville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and two hours prior to the service on Wednesday.
