Norman was the son of Alpha and Alice Coulter Mumaw, and the husband of the former Doris Lewis, who survived. He was also survived by children Norma Wilt, Diana Bond, Norman, Keith, Jeffrey and Terry Mumaw, 18 grandkids, 5 great-grandkids, and siblings Anna Bonam, Charles and Luther Mumaw.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He belonged to St. John's Episcopal Church in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. He also belonged to the Masons, Moose Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He owned H&M Construction in Harpers Ferry.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Norman Clifford Mumaw, 75, of Route 5, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at his home. Born Jan. 14, 1926, in Weverton, he was the son of the late Alpha C. and Alice Coulter Mumaw. He retired as owner and operator of H&M Construction Co. in Harpers Ferry. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in World War II. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. He was a member and past master of Logan Lodge 25 A.F. & A.M. in Harpers Ferry; member of Scottish & York Rite of Freemasons and Osiris Shrine Temple in Wheeling, W.Va.; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136 in Brunswick, Md.; and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948 in Charles Town, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris Jean Mumaw; two daughters, Norma Jean Wilt and Diana Bond, both of Charles Town; four sons, Norman E. Mumaw and Keith L. Mumaw, both of Charles Town, and Jeffrey L. Mumaw and Terry W. Mumaw, both of Harpers Ferry; one sister, Anna Bonam of Canton, Ohio; two brothers, Charles Mumaw of Merritt Island, Fla. and Luther Mumaw Sr. of Knoxville; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Jane Kempster will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery, Brownsville.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, in Harpers Ferry.
