Norman Eugene ?Jr.? Mumaw, 65, of Charles Town died suddenly Monday, March 16, 2015, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was born March 16, 1950, in Frederick, MD, to the late Norman C. Mumaw and Doris J. Lewis Mumaw. Mr. Mumaw was a 1968 graduate of Harpers Ferry High School. He completed his undergraduate work at Potomac State and Shepherd University and later earned his master?s degree from West Virginia University. He retired last year from Loudoun County Public Schools where he taught physical education and special education for more than 30 years. He coached many sports and had a positive influence on his students and players for several decades. He was married to Kristine Eldridge Mumaw for 21 years. Mr. Mumaw was an avid golfer, loved the Washington Redskins, was a loyal Mountaineer fan, was a diligent gardener, took great pride in his yard work, enjoyed his morning breakfast, was a good friend and neighbor, and was devoted to his dogs and his family. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Mumaw is survived by his wife Kristine Eldridge Mumaw of Charles Town; his children Pam Crampton (Rich) of Thurmont, MD, A.J. Mumaw (Kristin) of Ranson, Tyler Mumaw of Martinsburg and Gracie Mumaw of Charles Town; and his grandchildren Kaylee Crampton, Kyle Crampton, Braylon Mumaw and Cayleana D?Angelo. Additionally, he is survived by his mother and his siblings: Norma Jean Wilt (Richard) of Charles Town, Diana Bond of Charles Town, Jeffrey Mumaw (Kim) of Harpers Ferry, Terry Mumaw (Monica) of Harpers Ferry, Keith Mumaw (Michelle) of Charles Town; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. His family will receive visitors Saturday, March 21, 2015, 11-12 p.m. at Charles Town Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at noon.
