"Helen M. Mumma, 85, formerly of 997 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at Washington County Hospital. Born April 16, 1917, in Pottsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William H. and Ethel Mellinger Fisher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Charles E. Mumma, in 1976. She was a 1935 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was a former legal secretary. She was a member and past Sunday School teacher at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Hagerstown. She was a member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 378, Women's Auxiliary of Hagerstown and Women's Club of Hagerstown. She is survived by a son, Richard W. Mumma of Hagerstown, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Edward A. Mumma and Thomas H. Mumma; a sister, Dorothy Minnich; and a brother, George Fisher. Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, North Potomac Street, Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephen Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown. Visitation will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 E. Franklin St., Hagerstown, MD 21740."
