MRS. CLARENCE SKEELS
Mrs. Clarence Skeels died June 24, 1935, at her home in Clare county after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church at Skeels June 26, conducted by Rev. L. A. Ruegsegger.
Mrs. Cora. E. Skeels was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Whitman and was born May 17, 1866, at Morenci. She married Clarence Skeels January 14, 1891. They made their home at Jackson and in Lenawee county until they moved to Clare county in 1903. One daughter, Mrs. Gretchen Matthews, preceded her in death.
Surviving her are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Manwaring and Mrs. Doris Mathews, all of Clare county; one brother, Alfred Whitman, of Brooklyn; on sister, Mrs. Clara Moniner, of Hudson; one nephew; two nieces and nine grandchildren.
She was a member of the Gleaners and always interested in all good works of the community. Gladwin County Record dated 7-3/1935
