Services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Coffel-Schyneider-Torneden Chapel, Pleasanton, Kan., for Rees Hamilton, 89, Pleasanton, Kan., who died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kan.
The family suggests contributions to Olathe Good Samaritan Center Activity Fund. Interment will be in the Trading Post Cemetery, Trading Post, Kan.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Coffel-Schneider-Torneden Funeral Home, Pleasanton, Kan.
Survivors include a son, William Earl Hamilton, Pleasanton, Kan.; three daughters, Anna Lee Holtgraver, Spring Hill, Kan., Betty Kay Beatty, Bloomington, Ill., and Judith Marie Holtgraver, Edgerton, Kan.; nine grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Rees, and three grandchildren.
Mr. Hamilton was born Oct. 30, 1909, in Boicourt, Kan., to William and Anna Hays Hamilton. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Pleasanton. He served as a school board member for the Pleasanton School, and also as a board member for the Bank of Amoret and later the Bates County National Bank, where he was a past chairman of the board. He had also served as Potosi Township assessor.
He married Marie Hamilton on Dec. 23, 1941, in Amoret. She died Sept. 9, 1998.
