George was living at the time his father wrote his will. He was not listed in his parents household for the 1850 census. Sarah's obituary mentions a son in Illinois and a daughter in Iowa who could not attend her funeral, but it does not name them. It seems that all other children in the obituary are accounted for in Allen County or nearby except for Caracy, who resided in Iowa, and George whose residence had not yet been discovered. It appeared that George was the son who was a resident of Illinois. The IGI and the on line index to Illinois marriages 1763-1900 shows that a George W. Mumaugh and Ellen Humphrey were married in Illinois. Further research needs to be completed on George W. Mumaugh's line to prove without a doubt that this is the same George, however, the following census entry appears to finalize the connection.
