WILLIAM HENRY MEWMAW
William Henry Mewmaw, son of William L. and Amanda Mewmaw, was born February 9, 1870 in Pike county, Illinois, and died November 16, 1935, at his home in Mystic, Iowa, aged 65 years, 7 months and 9 days. He lived on a farm seven miles west of Milan from 1882 until 1900, where he farmed and taught school until he entered the mercantile and oil business in Mystic.
In 1894 he was married to Nellie Dunlap to which union four children were born namely: Mrs. Besie Gallier of Mosby, Mo.; Albert Mewmaw of Mystic, Iowa, and Mrs. Jennie Fuger of Des Moines, Iowa, all of whom survive him. One child died in infancy.
He is also survived by four brothers, John E. of Harris, James A., Nathan A, and Fred B., all of Milan. One brother died when about 21 years of age.
Funeral services were conducted at the Mystic M.E. church by Rev. Wilson, and burial was made in the Mystic cemetery.
