FREDDIE BYRON MEWMAW
Freddie Byron Mewmaw, son of W. L. and Amanda Mewmaw, was born in Mercer county, Mo., April 25, 1880, and departed this life Dec. 3, 1935, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 8 days. His parents moved to Sullivan county in 1881, locating near Reger. Three years later they moved to a farm seven miles west of Milan, where he grew to manhood. Afterwards he became the owner of this farm, which with an adjacent farm which he had previously purchased, made up his estate which he operated until his death.
He was converted in 1922 and united with the Sullivan First Presbyterian church. He was united in marriage to Miss Allie Cochran Dec. 16, 1906. To this union four children were born, Francis L., and Mrs. Velma Glidewell, living near the home, Arthur F. of Milan and Bruce of the home. He was the youngest of a family of six sons, three of whom survive, John E. of near Harris and James A. and Nathan A. of Milan, Thomas B. having died in 1877, at the age of 3 1/2 years, and Willie H., who passed away Nov. 16 1935
Besides his wife, four children and three brothers he leaves a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his death.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1935, at 2 p.m. at the Sullivan First church by Rev. James F. Trammell. Interment in Shatto cemetery.
