Note by Doug Mumma. I believe there is an error in Richard Huffman's book regarding the children of John and Rachel. In Richard's listing, he shows a child named Mary A. Mumaw being born 23 Feb 1830 and dying 21 June 1836. If one traces this family in the census, a Mary A. Mumaw appears in the 1850 census as being born about Feb 1850. I believe it is reasonable to assume that Richard made an error in Mary's birth year and it should have been 1850, not 1830 and I have changed the records accordingly. This child does not appear in the 1860 census.
