1785 Brother DAVID born, Lancaster Co., PA. This is the last year his father appears on the tax rolls in Earl Twp. Soon after, the family relocated to near Amsterdam, Botetourt Co., VA, where the name was changed from Mumma to Moomaw. The rest of Philip's siblings were born there. 1787 CHRISTINA, 1788 EVA, 1789 MARY MAGDALINE, 1791 HENRY, 1796 JACOB (Roanoke, VA), 1798 MARGARET "MAGGEL".
1805 (December 14) PHILIP and MARY KATHERINE were married by Edw. Mitchill, probably in Amsterdam, Botetourt Co. (See Marriage Bond) Perhaps a sister of Catherine, Mary Biglar, was married at the same time to John Cafler.
1806 (October 24) First son JACOB B. (JACK) born, Botetourt Co. Philip trains him in carpentry.
1808 Family moves to Catawba (originally Botetourt Co., later Roanoke Co.)
1808 (February 24) First daughter HARRIET born, Catawba
1808 (June 2) Philip buys 300 acrea on Craig's Creek, Botetourt Co., from John & Betey Bowen. (See Deed. Also see photo of homestead in Moomaw Family Book)
1809-1825 Eight children born: 1809 JOHN B., 1812 PHILLIP R., 1813 CATHERINE, 1816 SUSAN, 1818 BARBARA (AMY), 1820 MARK B., 1822 DAVID (in Salem), and 1825 WILLIAM.
1827 JONATHAN CHRISTIAN of Buckingham Co., VA, (Oldest bro?) conveys to Philip 231 acres on Poages Run, Catawba Creek. (See Deed) Oldest son, JACOB B. indentures himself to an uncle, a tanner (Jonathan?)
1830 (August 17) Son JACOB B. marries ANNA FISHER of Giles Co., VA., and also assumes control of the tannery.
1831 (March 16) Philip sells 50 acres of Craig's Creek property to son JACOB B. (See Deed)
1831 (May 19) First child ELIZABETH born to JACOB B. and ANNA.
1837 Philip's father JOHN dies
1838 Roanoke Co. established, in part out of Botetourt Co. JACOB B. gives up tannery to become a carpenter
1842 Philip's mother ANNA BARBARA dies
1844 (November 11) PHILIP dies at Catawba
1845/50 JACOB B. moves his family to Grant Co., Indiana
