Arthur Samuel Mumaw, 93, of New Market, VA died October 5, 2015 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.
He was born September 2, 1922 in Timberville, to the late Harrison and Virginia Whitmore Mumaw.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He worked for Franwood Farms, and was a member at Fairview Church of the Brethren near Endless Caverns.
On September 20, 1947 he married the former Lorraine Wood, who preceded him in death June 9, 1989.
Surviving are four sons, Gary A. Mumaw of NC, Kemp L. Mumaw of NC, Kim Dee Mumaw of Dayton, Bruce Mumaw of Winchester; one daughter, Patricia Depoy of New Market; one sister, Lelia Plaugher of Mt. Jackson; one grandchild, Asha Dawn Depoy of New Market.
Three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Rev. Archie Webster will conduct a funeral service 2:00 PM Friday at Fairview Church of the Brethren. Burial with military rites will follow at the Fairview Church cemetery.
The casket will be closed. Friends may call anytime at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Jackson Rescue Squad, or New Market Rescue Squad.
