'Brumbaugh Family Genealogy' by Dr. Gaius Marcus Brumbaugh, published 1913
Just prior to Henry's wedding, he became the guardian for his younger brother. Jacob.
Maryland State Archives "Washington County Guaridans, 1808-1815". The abstract says: "Mumma, Jacob, age 15 yrs; Henry Mumma guardian; Joseph Shank and Jacob Mumma sureties. 6 March 1810. Jacob Mumma, the surety, is Jacob's uncle.

A December, 1827 ad which said:
"
For Rent
The Tavern House
at the Ferry, opposite Shepherds-town, at present in the occupancy of Henry Mumma - Possession will be given the 1st of April next.
John Blackford
Ferry Hill, Dec. 13.
"
The 1859 Washington County lists property for John Blackford a little south of the present bridge over the river to Shepherdstown. This location is not too far from the current location of the modern bridge.

In January, 1828, Henry Mumma placed an ad in the newspaper which said:
"
$20 REWARD
STOLEN from the subscriber, living at Blackford's Ferry, Washington County, ........
"
Would you know of the location of "Blackford's Ferry"? I presume it is the same location as the above ad.

It has been speculated that Henry and his brother, Jacob, migrated to Dayton, Ohio together. Howerver, newspaper articles clearly show that Henry moved with his family to Madison Township, Montgomery Co., OH about 1828. Jacob, moved in 1827 and purchased property, so they migrated approximately 1 year apart in time.
