OBITUARY OF SUSAN FRANCES MEWMAW IN DAILY REPUBLICAN TRIBUNE, FEB.8, 1905 Trenton, Missouri
Susan Frances Mewmaw was born in Virginia in 1835, married to Caleb Cox in 1861, moved with her husband to Missouri in 1867, was the mother of three children, Amos, Frank, and Mrs. Wm. Mikesell. Mrs. Cox died February 5, 1905, at her home one mile west of Farmersville, after a short illness of pneumonia. The above is an epiome(sic) of the life of Mrs. Susan Cox, whose body was laid to rest in the Tolle Cemetery Monday afternoon. An impressive funeral service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Todd of Osgood. Mrs. Cox was one of the pioneers of Grundy county. She was loved and respected by all her acquaintances for her many good qualities expressed by her life. Her loss will be keenly felt.
