WARREN, R.I. - James M. Mumma Sr., 84, of 170 Child St., died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, R.I.
Born in Lydia, Md., he was the son of the late William S. and Florence Ensminger Mumma.
He was a truck driver for the former Specktor Freight System in Seekonk, Mass., until he retired in 1977.
A veteran of World War II, he served 10 years in the U.S. Navy and two years in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 251; and a 50 year member of Washington Lodge 3 of the Masons in Warren.
He is survived by his wife, Janice E. Drown Mumma; a daughter, Valerie E. Lunney of Atlanta; a son, James M. Mumma Jr.; and four sisters, Lena Moats of Belen, N.M., Bernice Dockter of Maugansville, Rosalie Childress or Maitland, Fla., and Ardath Mullendore of Smithsburq,
A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Warren.
Burial will be private,
