"BELEN, [Valencia Co.] N.M. - Lena Florence Mumma Batt-Moats, 104, formerly of Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Laurel Meadow Health Care in Belen. Born Nov. 2, 1900, in Lappans Crossroads, she was the daughter of the late William Stanley and Florence Ensminger Mumma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Foster M. Batt Sr., and by her second husband, George Moats. She retired from Hagerstown Shoe Factory with 40 years of service. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown and Grace United Methodist Church in Belen. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Guessford of Belen, and Marvene Spencer of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Foster Batt Jr. of Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters, Rosalee Childress of Clearwater and Ardath Mullendore of Smithsburg; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Sarah Pierce, Joesphine Smith, Catherine Deloser, Bernice Dockter, Jane Mumma, Trilby Mumma, Ivy Martin and Myrtle Tracy; and brothers, Stanley Mumma, Irvin Mumma, Albert Mumma, James Mumma, John Mumma and Hershey Mumma; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be Monday at noon at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. The Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m."
