A John Mumma appears in the 1840 census, 3rd district, living next door to his sister, Catherine Mumma Mason. He has a wife, 30-40 years old with a girl, age 5-10, a girl age 15-20 and a boy, age 10-15. He is listed as age 40-50. This all fits with a marriage to Anna Marie Lucas on 24 May 1824 recorded in Baltimore records. In addition, there is a woman living in the household aged 60-70. This person is too young to be his mother, Katharina, so it would likely be his mother-in-law
Deed AWB 401 folio 397, dated 1848, identifies John Mumma and his wife, A. Marie Mumma, son John S. S. Mumma, daughter Margaret I. S. Mumma and daughter, Casandra S.
