Frederick Co., VA Will Book #8, 1804-1810 -- This was not Jacobs Will, but an inventory of his personal estate. It was filed in Frederick Co., VA on 16 Aug 1806. This appraisal was likely done within a few days of his death.
Frederick Co., VA Will Book #10 1816-1820 Filed 6 August 1816.
Further disposition of of Jacob's estate. The copy is difficult to read but the following points are made:
1) speaks of compensation for boarding and schooling the children, the youngest of eight being five years old at the death of their father.
2] Speaks of support of the children until the youngest came of age July 18, 1816. This would tend to suggest the youngest child was born on 18 July, 1801. I am surprised that "being of age was considered to be 15 years old.
