Conrad and his wife's name appear on several deed's in counties of Allegany, MD and Hampshire Co., VA (now Mineral Co., WV]. The following documents were discovered and provided through the courtesy of Jane Moomau Doughty.
Deed Book 9, page 135 - 25 August, 1792
A rent indenture between Rev. Denny Fairfax of Leeds Castle, Kent, GB. by Conrad Muma of Hampshire County, VA for 13 acres of land at the cost of 40 Shillings "current" money of the state of Virginia for the term of the natural lives of Conrad or his two sons, John and Jacob. Conrad could not sign his name, but made his mark. [This suggests that John and Jacob were the only two sons alive in 1792.] By the standard terms of the lease, a house, 20 feet by 16 feet had to be erected with a brick or stove chimney and to keep in good condition. Also required to plant an orchard of 100 apple trees and plant them 30 feet asunder [distant from each other?]

Deed Book 12, page 385 - 17 January 1801
John Long & Mary Long of Hampshire Co., VA sell 100 acres of land on Patterson Creek in Hampshire County (currently in Mineral Co. and about 6 miles south of Cumberland along the river that divides Maryland and West Virginia] to Conrad Mumaw of Alleghany County, MD for 100 pounds, current money of the state of Virginia.

Michael, Nancy and Solomon Heater sell 116 acres of land in Hamshire Co., VA to Conrad Muma of Hampshire Co., VA for the price of 150 pounds, current money of the state of Virginia.

Deed Book 14, page 401 - 25 January 1806
Conrad Muma and his wife Barbara of Hampshire Co., VA sell 116 acres of land in Hampshire Co, VA to Hannah Slagle for a price of $400. Conrad and Barbara sign the document with their marks. Barbara was asked to sign away her dower rights this day.

NOTE: Conrad's name appears again on the records when the above tract of land is listed in the Monnet Family Genealogy that Conrad had sold his interest in this property to a Hannah (Slagle) Hoffman. Conrad's name is spelled as "Conrad Moomma". It says it was acknowledged in Pickaway County per Deed Book 22, p. 326.

Conrad Mumaw and his wife Barbary of Hampshire Co., VA sell 100 acres of land along Patterson Creek in Hampshire Co., VA to Peter Laskcutter for a price of 100 pounds current money of the state of Virginia. On this document, Conrad Mumaw signs his name, but Barbara makes her mark.
